BEIJING,Supra Style, Feb. 8 (UPI) -- Six senior officials of China's Food and Drug Administration have been taken into custody, accused of taking bribes, the China Daily reported Wednesday.
One of the detained officials is Cao Wenzhuang, 44, the head of the agency's Department of Drug Registration.
It is not yet clear what sums of money are involved, as an investigation of other registration department officials is still ongoing.
All six were detained Jan. 12 at the agency's annual conference in Beijing.
In June 2005 Hao Heping, the former head of the agency's Department of Medical Devices, was detained on charges of bribery.
