MADRID, Jan. 29 (UPI) -- Penelope Cruz is in Spain with her ill father, an urgent trip that caused her to miss the Golden Globe Awards amid rumors she and Tom Cruise had split.
Cruz unexpectedly left Los Angeles for Madrid at the news that her father, Eduardo,Nike Free, had suffered a heart attack, London's Sun reported Thursday.
The emergency upset her plans to accompany Cruise to the Los Angeles awards show Sunday, where Cruise was nominated, but did not win, for best actor for "The Last Samurai."
The actor's post-awards happy mingling with his ex-wife,www.buysuprashoes.eu, Nicole Kidman,Women Nike Free 3.0, further fueled speculation that the three-year romance between Cruz and Cruise was on the rocks.
Cruz squelched the rumors Wednesday when she explained her unexpected absence at Cruise's side.
"I wanted to see (my father) as I'm about to start filming and I'll be away from Madrid for the next month and half," she said as she was leaving Madrid's Monte Principe Hospital, where her father is staying.
